Background

The Blair Witch has been a legend oyt there for a long time now. It goes back in time to The Revolutionary War back when The United States and England were at war. They say all this talk about the unknown mysterious legend of the Blair Witch started near some woods called back in the time the Black Hills Forest in the state of Maryland. The Blair Witch got it name after the town that is present called Burkittesville that back in the day it was named the ill-fated town of blair back in the year of 1634. It all started with this women named Elly Kedward. In the year of 1785, several children from this small town accused Kedward of forcing them into her home to draw blood from them, when others found out they reacted in a angry way. Later on after everyone being almost positive that she was involved in witch crafting people decided to take her down. "According to Urban, Kedward is found guilty of witchcrafting, banish from the village during a particularly winter and presumed death". After a few years passed by they say her spirit came back to resume revenge to all the people from the town of Burkittesville. “According to The Blair Witch, fearing a curse, the entire township fled as soon as the weather broke, and had vowed never to utter the name Elly Kedward again. This lady that was accused of witch crafting is known as the Blair Witch.

Stories

Many questions and stories are out there of the famous horror Blair Witch. Many say that she still lives around the woods that was once known as the Black Hills Woods. There's a story out there that talks about this man who once lived in the city of Burkittsville Marland named  Rustin Parr who once back in the year of 1940 had a curse from the Blair Witch demanding him to murder some children from the same town he lived in and that he would finally be free after he finished his deed. According to Roscoe, "For example, the story of Coffin Rock, where a search party were found disemboweled with strange symbols marking their bodies, and the story of Burkittsville resident, Rustin Parr, who is said to have murdered 11 children in the 1940s on the orders of the Blair witch".  After the incident happened about Parr's murdering the 11 children, cops from the local area then asked him what he was talking about and parr then took him to his home near the woods of Black Hills Woods. Police then discovered several horrible acts torture in his basement. "Their bodies had been treated in much the same way as the accounts of teh victims at coffin Rock, symbols had been cut into there faces, chest, hands and feet" (The Blair Witch). After this inncident Parr was executed by people from the village hanging him up and they also burned down his house.

Conclusion

After going through this research I have learned many different thing about this topic "The Blair Witch Project". There are two main things I learned about this research, the first thing I learned was that the movie  called The blair Witch Project was not actually real footage even though it looked so scary and real, some actors were paid to actually go out there and shoot the film. In addition to that one researchable fact I did figure out and actually something new I learned was that the Blair Witch is really a legend out there thats been going back all the way back to the Revolutionary War and that to me was something new and exiting. So my opinion is that this legend could be in a plausible category. My reason of it being in a plausible category is because my research shows that some parts are true but other parts are completely false, such as the movie after the Legend of the Blair Witch. Even though in the movie they tried to play some parts of real stories and facts that actually happened in the timeline of this witch most of the movie was played at there part. Even though this town of Burkittsville is a peaceful and quite town many people decide not to even get near here because of this legend.

Evidence

There are are many evidence's out there about the Blair Witch. They have actual footage of the car that was parked outside the woods when they first arrived at the scene where they were going to start there tour and begin there research about this witch. "Part one of the Frederick County Sheriff's office evidence video police identify and label half of the filmmakers found gear"(The Blair Witch Project). They also have a video from an interview given to Rustin Parr, the man who kidnapped and murdered eleven children from the town of Burkittsville. "According to Roscoe, in an interview conducted with Parr shortly before he was executed,(presented as archival newsreel footage), he described why he killed the children (with knives), he added that he made one child's face the wall while others were killed". So to present day no one dares to walk in those woods near the city of Burkitsville Maryland.

Proposal

There are many stories and legends of haunting out there that talk about witches and horror that keep you from walking alone at night .I'm the type of person that tries not to believe that because I get paranoid really quickly. After watching the movie "Blair Witch Project" it really got me thinking that there's probably such things about haunted houses out there. This movie is a fiction movie that talks about a group of college students that did a report/project on a witch that supposely existed in the some woods near  Burkittesville, Maryland . There were many different debates going on during this time on how these students really dissapeared because many people didn't believe in this kind of dramatic legends back in this time. Well it was October of 1994 when these students dissapeared and one year later their terrified bodies were found, either with missing body parts or just couldn't tell who's the body was anymore, skin peeled off, missing eye balls and etc. Many people in this city of Burkittesville or near have different talks and stories about this legend of these haunted woods that say that the Blair Witch stays in. My opinion is that this story is confirmed and truth because in 1991  they made a movie of the films made while the students were in the journey in the woods and many people made many researches about this project.
